Nnamdi Kanu: FGN Should not Turn Prosecution to Persecution - Nwandugbom JOK

Image
Nnamdi Kanu: FGN Should not Turn Prosecution to Persecution  The news, if true, that the Federal Government is appealing to the Supreme Court to reverse the Appeal Court ruling discharging Mazi Nnamdi Kanu will perhaps be the worst blunder of the APC-led Federal Government till its expiration.  For an administration that has clearly received flaks for releasing hardened terrorists and other criminals from a particular part of the country and has the record of being the most sectional administration since independence, even with the selection of Service Chiefs flagrantly skewed against a section of the country in favour of others, this is obviously a confirmation of all that has been said against APC and the Federal Government it is leading with regard to management of national inclusiveness and cohesion.  If that Appeal Court judgment is eventually appealed, it becomes clearer than ever that what is happening is the persecution of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu possibly because of the part of the co

Kanu, a flight risk, FG tells Supreme Court

Image
Kanu, a flight risk, FG tells Supreme Court  The Federal Government has filed seven grounds of appeal against the October 13 Court of Appeal judgment which discharged the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu. It asked the Supreme Court to set aside the judgment and restore the charge against the respondent to be tried at the trial court. The government, in a motion on notice in support of the appeal, is also seeking a stay of execution of the judgment of the court presided over by Justice Jummai Sankey, pending the hearing and final determination of its appeal, noting that the IPOB leader posed a flight risk. The notice of appeal dated October 18 was signed by the Director, Public Prosecution of the Federation, Mohammed Abubakar, Assistant Chief State Counsel, D. Kaswe and A. Aluko and Senior State Counsel, G. Nweze, Department of Public Prosecution, Federal Ministry of Justice. The appellant averred that the appellate court erred in law when it held that the trial co

The most painful thing about Nigeria is that We're not fighting an external war,  Every Crisis ongoing right now is internal!! This shows how Vulnerable We are as a Nation!! During EndSars Protest in 2020, many young  people lost their Lives,  During The Sunday Mass in Owo, (Ondo State)   Many Persons never made it back home alive,  Now it's Flood and yet again many People are losing their Lives, their Properties, and valuable document which they toiled for years to acquire,  At Bayelsa State they've battled with Sea - Pirates for so long,  right now, everyone just prays for Survival,  Just recently in this same Nigeria, several illegal connections to Oil were discovered, The same Law  which guarantees  Freedom of Expression & Speech as seen in Section 39 of the 1999 CFRN is only used as a protective shield for some class of persons, Not to address the prices of goods which has risen beyond control.  Rice is now #200 for one cup, families are now struggling to feed at l

We Must Never Forget #ENDSARS Protest & ’20–10–20′

None of the policemen accused of brutality, torturing and extrajudicially murdering Nigerian citizens have been brought to justice — there has been no marked improvement in the funding or quality of equipment available to the Nigerian Police Force and these incidents of torture continue in many security facilities nationwide. It’s two years since the thinly veiled threat issued by the military high command, wherein the unacceptable move in the name of operation crocodile smile was made to crush #EndSARS protests. Such a threat was ill-conceived in the face of legitimate citizens’ protest and a threat to constitutionally guaranteed rights. My thoughts and prayers are with those who lost their lives, loved ones, sustained injuries, or sustained other losses at the Lekki Toll Gate and at various locations in Lagos and around the country when security agencies were deployed to clamp down on the protests and non-state actors took advantage to cause chaos and mayhem. No doubt, the right to l

Image
Organised Private Sector (OPS) operators under the aegis of the National Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA) have berated the Kogi State government over the closure of Dangote Cement, Obajana Plant, describing the action as being hasty. This is just as Lagos and Abuja branches of the Chamber in separate statements described the action of the state governor, Yahaya Bello as “shocking and disappointing” at the least, regretting that for every day the factory is shut, millions of naira are lost and the reputation of Kogi state takes a negative hit. NACCIMA expressed regret that the issues between the company and the state over tax dispute ought not to have led to sealing of the company but should have been resolved in a conciliatory and amicable atmosphere. Obadimu stated that NACCIMA’s position was based on some key considerations bordering on the impact of the factory’s closure on the economy and thousands of people whose means of livelihood

I Will Definitely Not Vote For A Muslim Muslim Ticket - Cardinal John Onaiyekan

His Eminence, Cardinal John Onaiyekan has shared his thoughts on the same faith presidential ticket of the All Progressives Congress.  Speaking at the 1st synod of the Catholic Diocese of Osogbo, held in Ede, Osun state on Wednesday October 5, Onaiyekan said the same faith ticket is a political decision based on a calculation to win votes. The cleric who stated that he won't vote for the same faith ticket of the ruling party, asked churches to present facts about the matter to people, who will then take their own political decisions. He said;        "You will note that the Catholic Bishop Conference has not taken any action on the Muslim/Muslim ticket of All Progressives Congress. The reason is that the Muslim/Muslim ticket is a political decision taken by APC as a party on the calculation that it is their best way to win the election or assure their victory in the 2023 general election. “There is no point telling them not to take such a decision, all you can say is that

"The way Obidients have been dragging Joke Silver is very sad..." ~Reno Omokri.

#Obidients  "The way Obidients have been dragging Joke Silva and particularly her husband, Olu Jacobs, is very sad..." ~Reno Omokri. "Peter Obi was quick to release a statement about alleged attacks on Obidients. Yet, he stays silent while they tear at a couple going through a health crisis. Wow!  Why is it that Obidients consider themselves patriots when they support Obi, but consider Joke Silva a sellout when she supports Tinubu?  Is this not the IPOB behaviour many of us have been talking about?  So anyone who does not support Obi must have collected money?  Please leave Olu Jacobs alone. The man is in frail health. You Obidients should not push him over the edge!  All that his wife did is to support Tinubu. She did not kill anyone.  She did not steal. She just exercised her freedom of choice, which is not a crime." ▪︎Recall that Peter Obi's supporters bombarded Nollywood Actress, Joke Silva's social media handle where she posted herself with others at A
