 If you ever took a course in high school Physics in Nigeria, then the name P.N. Okeke must sound very familiar. P.N. Okeke has become a household name for every high school kid doing physics, so much that the same way Einstein is often used synonymously for “genius”, P.N. Okeke is used in place of “physics”. Well, the full name is Pius Nwankwo Okeke, and he is the Author of the arguably the most popular Physics Textbook (Senior Secondary Physics) in Nigeria. Of course, the book’s popularity is a consequence of how the author explained the science concepts in it; some folks claim that even a janitor can think of discovering new laws of physics after exhausting its content

The tropical nation of Maldives has quit the commonwealth saying the inter-governmental organisation had taken punitive actions against the Maldives despite its progress in strengthening democratic institutions. The South Asian country announced on Thursday its decision to leave in a statement via its Ministry of Foreign Affairs. None of the policemen accused of brutality, torturing and extrajudicially murdering Nigerian citizens have been brought to justice — there has been no marked improvement in the funding or quality of equipment available to the Nigerian Police Force and these incidents of torture continue in many security facilities nationwide. It’s two years since the thinly veiled threat issued by the military high command, wherein the unacceptable move in the name of operation crocodile smile was made to crush #EndSARS protests. Such a threat was ill-conceived in the face of legitimate citizens’ protest and a threat to constitutionally guaranteed rights.
