The tropical nation of Maldives has quit the commonwealth saying the inter-governmental organisation had taken punitive actions against the Maldives despite its progress in strengthening democratic institutions. The South Asian country announced on Thursday its decision to leave in a statement via its Ministry of Foreign Affairs. 2023: 'I Wish Peter Obi Was Not An Igbo Man'       ▪Sometimes I just wish that Peter Obi was from another Tribe but not Igbo so I can campaign for him without anyone thinking I'm doing so because he's Igbo or people rejecting the best candidate just because of his tribe.  It's difficult being black... Even more difficult being Nigerian and most difficult being Igbo.        ▪Yesterday, someone told me that Peter Obi is a good leader but because of IPOB and their Biafra agitation, he won't vote for him.        Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), says his administration would revive Nigeria’s dead industries if elected in 2023. Tinubu said this during his town hall meeting with the business community and organised private sector on Tuesday in Lagos. At the meeting, the APC presidential candidate laid out his action plan before the business leaders, while he noted that his administration will target double-digit gross domestic product (GDP) growth.
